The most important foundation of the Catholic tradition is that the faith is built upon love; the deepest purest version of love. Bishop Robert Barron explains that by understanding what it is to love within the Catholic faith means that it is to will good on the other, wanting the absolute best for each and every person. This love is never jealous, but always kind and has a root of perfect good. Theological teaching goes on to explain through the Letters of Saint Paul, that this love in the end always wins and that not even the greatest evil can conquer this love because God is love. This perspective of God being love itself, allows us to understand the unconditional love that God has for all of creation. This love resides within each of us, with our truest and deepest selves one with God. This theological thinking is beautiful and intends for us to gain another approach on God and the faith itself. By seeing God as love, and knowing that God is within each and every one of us, we come to know and love ourselves in the truest form.
