My spiritual experience in Rome has been quite different since I’ve never prayed in English for a long period of time. In the beginning, I struggled a lot because I didn’t know any of the prayers and songs in English, but I knew them in Spanish, so I just recited them in my head and was able to find that inner peace with God. I was able to understand what it meant because almost each word is the same translation to Spanish so that was something that helped me a lot throughout my time here to finally learn the English versions. This tells me a lot about the Bible and the Catholic Church, and how the message and dialogue are transmitted in the same way but different language. Today is one of the last days in this amazing trip, and I am satisfied with my effort to be able to pray in another language and obtain the same feeling I do in my native one and also talk to that inner voice in my head that keeps my love and faith up.
